I regard ceramics as matter to give form and force to the form. I want to trace lines and curves which interpenetrate in a natural way, which is posed, dance, communicate.
I build an outline, I approach with readiest. I take a margin from one to two centimetres which can be dug in all point. I finish by digging the form. My parts are cooked with 1270°C, it is sandstone. That gives them the resistance of the stone. They can live outside without fearing the ravage of time. The rain, hail, the gêle, the sun, wind, the time which passes. The sandstone at every moment can be brought back to the moment of its result, on the outlet side of the furnace, when the parts are clean, as well as possible of them same, being kept of their presence. Each angle of sight cré a new form, each angle of sight composes the form.
The hand of the prehistoric man and that of the contemporary ceramist knead the same matter: the clay whose man, through his personal expression, makes an Art with the quotidien.Le "ceramic" term derives from the Greek word "keramikos" which means "makes clay". Today, the ceramic word relates to any terra cotta whatever of it is the use. It is as well a sandstone bowl as a tile, a brick out of red ground, as an electrical insulator out of porcelain, a dental prosthesis, a heat shield of space rocket a jewel or a temple. The oldest pottery known today was manufactured in Japan, 10500 years before our ère.La pottery spreads at the time Neolithic era, i.e. after the men gave up the wildlife sédentariser and to devote itself to agriculture and élevage.Elle was not invented in a precise place of which it would have been spread on the ground, but appeared in several areas of the sphere, at human the particularly inventive ones and who did not have any relation mutuelle.Au the Middle East, the pottery would have been invented at the beginning of the 7th millenium; it would have gained all Europe while passing by Anatolie.Les principal other hearths were in China of North, Central America and in Peru. Certain human groups never knew ceramics. It is the case of the Australian aboriginals and the Indians of the large North-American plains. In France the first ceramics, with printed decoration, appears in south-east between 6000 and 5500 front. JC little after their rise in Italy south. The majority of the forms are assembled to the wad.
